The War Files Declassification Administration (WFDA), also known as the Citadel Archives, is the galaxy's best source for organised information of the Terminus and Reaper Wars. It collects often classified information for the purposes analyzing, cataloging, declassifying, and ultimately, releasing the information to the galactic public domain.

Description[]

Formed during the reconstruction period, the War Files Declassification Administration seeks to collect often classified: top secret documentation, military files, video logs, journal entries, comm traffic, and other firsthand evidence on the period of galactic conflict between 2185 and 2187, for the purposes analyzing, cataloging, declassifying, and ultimately, releasing the information to the galactic public domain. Matriarch Amala, a well-respected scholar of the Citadel Archives, spearheaded the effort to create the WFDA, spending immense political capital and making some enemies in the process. The WFDA stands as the galaxy’s best source for organized, primary sources on the Terminus and Reaper Wars, also possessing the ability to recommend the lifting of news blackouts and injunctions. Still, the WFDA submits its recommended files for release to the Citadel Archives leader, who either approve, disapprove, or defer to the Citadel Council, which lengthens the declassification process. Full declassification will likely take upwards of a century. Matriarch Amala remains committed to truth, though her scholastic drive can conflict with Council interests, resulting in many vetoes of declassification orders. Some elements in government wish to replace Matriarch Amala as WFDA Inspector General.
